    1. Yep. It’s a type of Bromeliad, actually native to Brazil. I have a few different types in my garden, but this is the only one of this particular species.

    1. That little pond would be the phytotelma – a water reservoir that forms in a natural hollow in a plant. I didn’t notice how much it looks like little birds, though, but now you mention it, it’s obvious!
